Create, Connect and Share Respect

A better internet starts with you

Safer Internet Day 2018 was celebrated globally on Tuesday 6th February 2018 with the slogan “Create, Connect and Share Respect: A better internet starts with you”. Follow the link for more information.

More than a thousand organisations across the UK got involved to help inspire a national conversation about using technology responsibly, respectfully, critically and creatively.

In school we launched Internet safety week by reading stories and discussing different stories of children who were using the internet in different ways. Sometimes they were safe and sometimes they weren’t.

Throughout the week we discussed and produced work on ways of being safe and promoting the key message, “Create, Connect and Share Respect.”

In UKS2, children had a visitor come in and talk about appropriate use of apps and what to do to stay safe and how to handle situations when they feel uncomfortable.

Throughout the year, children have safe access to the internet.  Through our schemes of work, the children are taught the importance of staying safe,  making choices and know when to speak to an adult for help.
